We will be leading the fancy dress procession at 1.45pm from the playing field to the Lime Kiln Stage, together with the lovely Betty Stoggs! This will be followed by a samba set near the Holbrook building at 2.30pm. We'll be taking part again in the May day celebrations in St Ives. Samba Celtica will be playing on St Ives harbour from 12pm and will then be in the parade from the Guildhall around the harbour at 1pm. St Ives May day is a lovely celebration of spring with traditional Maypole dancing and a May King and Queen, so do come along!

Samba Celtica are heading to Exeter for a celebration of samba in the South West! Organised by Street Heat to mark their 20th year, this will be an awesome day! All daytime performances are taking place at the popular Quay in Exeter, underneath the pavilion. Samba bands from all round the South West will be playing from 11am through to 6.30pm and Samba Celtica will be playing at 2.20pm in the afternoon. The celebration will continue into the evening at The Port Royal. Don't miss it!

Samba Celtica will be kicking off proceedings for a big welcome party at Land's End with a host of entertainment and music in the line up, including Newton Faulkner. This is being organised by breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel! - who have organised "Bikin' for Boobies" - a three day bike ride across Cornwall ending at Land's End on Monday 30th May. With the support of Atlantic FM and various local businesses, and an awesome musical lineup, this is going to be a brilliant event and we're delighted to be taking part! We'll be playing samba for a wedding in Launceston today, which will be wonderful! We're meeting the bride and groom at the church door and leading the wedding party from the church to the reception, then continuing to play as guests arrive. Brilliant! Mazey Day in Penzance for Golowan needs no introduction really apart from to say it will undoubtably be as awesome as usual! Samba Celtica will be playing in a couple of parades together with some performances as follows: 10.45 - top of Causeway Head, we'll be playing for about 30 mins. Following that we will be parading from there to Chapel Street and playing another half hour samba set on arrival there! We are then in the 3pm Parade leaving St John's Hall and following the usual route down Market Jew street and back. South Kerrier Official Festival of Food (or SKOFF) is taking place again this year at Helston Community College - this was a really popular event last year so we are delighted to be supporting it with some samba this year! The event opens at 9.30am and runs til 2.30pm, celebrating the best in local food, food education and young enterprise. Helston farmers market will be there along with other local products, cooking demonstrations, live music, and a real ale bar. Samba Celtica will be playing at 11am and then again at 1pm. We'll also be helping with a samba workshop/free-for-all at 12pm for any budding sambistas who want to have a go! Don't miss it!

We'll be playing in Wadebridge for their lovely carnival again this year - we had really great fun there last year and we're very much looking forward to taking part again! The carnival starts at 7pm and the parade goes all the way around the town. Last year we went on to play a short set after the parade had finished - so we'll see what happens this year! We're playing at the lovely Padstow carnival at the start of August, which will be great. We will be playing samba in the carnival procession which sets off from the top of the hill at 6.30pm. The parade ends up on the harbour, where we will be playing another set on the bandstand. Please could band members meet at 5pm at the fire station carpark at the top of the hill (and bear in mind parking may be difficult). See you all there!

We're delighted to be playing at the Porthleven raft race! We'll be warming the crowd up before the race starts from the harbour...and we might even have a Samba Celtica raft ourselves... see you there!

We're going to be warming the crowd up with some samba before the fireworks at the Magpies Football Ground in Penzance on November 5th! We'll be playing from 6.45 and the fireworks will be starting at 7.30. See you all there!

We are joining the procession for Stithians Lantern Parade for the first time this year, which we're really looking forward to. This is an event that's been getting bigger every year with children of all ages taking part! We're meeting at 6.30 for a start time of 7pm for the lantern procession. A lovely start to the festive season!

We will be playing samba at 2.30pm for two 40-minute sets on the bandstand in the harbour at Padstow Christmas festival! We're really looking forward to this one, we'll be playing in the marquee so come along and have a bit of a dance while you're doing your Christmas shopping on the harbour! As has become a Samba Celtica tradition, we'll be playing samba around the streets of St Ives on New Year's Eve. St Ives is one big fancy dress party for New Year, so get your outfit on and come and join the fun! There is no 'organised' entertainment but it's one big street party, usually ending on the harbour with fireworks and more samba. A truly brilliant night. Don't miss it! Band members: fancy dress is the same as last year so all in white with blue and orange feathers please! Meet in the carpark on Park Avenue (as last year) at 9.30pm for a warmup and then we'll head down to Royal Square to start playing. Cheers!
